When I put text data (in this case “solo”) in the staff below where there is a large time signature, it is input above the time signature. Is this a bug? Is there a way to fix it through options? This is very annoying.
Hi @ytdiya1, and welcome to the Forum.
If you create a custom Playing technique for the Solo instead of using staff-attached text (and save your changes as default with the star icon, to have it appear in all your projects), the PT will be positioned as you desire (immediately above the notes)
Here some visual guides (follow the numbers):
-
create a custom Playback techniquefrom menu Library (that doesn’t do anything): this makes sure that your “Solo” (that will use this) doesn’t activate any other Playback technique:
-
create a custom Playing technique assigning the previously created Playback technique to it (notice the difference, this time is a Playing T. vs the Playback T. of before). You can also apply a different or a custom Paragraph style to it, in the dialogue, so it looks as you want:
-
you will find your newly created Playing technique under the Common subdivision in the Playing techniques panel, and you can apply it with the mouse or with the popover shortcut text defined in the dialogue of point 2.:
@ytdiya1
Also for Solo functionality, look for Divisi functions in the Manual, where you can define “Solo” e “gli altri”. But it doesn’t place the Solo label below the big time signature…, but you can drag things in engrave mode (so as the original text that you used).
Thank you so much for your kind and detailed explanation!
@ytdiya1 You are welcome!
