Last attempt to solve my Nuendo / Cubase problem

Hi all,

Discussing it with Steinberg support for months now to solve my problem.
Even the 14.0.30 update did not bring a solution.

Problem:
Graphic lag. (see second part videos).
Audio behaving normal, no clicks or what ever.
All 12 versions don’t have the problem, starts at 13 / 14 versions.
Also did testing with Protools and Studio one, no problem, so my hardware is ok.

Background:
I use Nuendo / Cubase for big classical projects, loaded files can go to 40-50GB.
Just using instrument tracks, group tracks with automation and fx tracks.
No audio recording.
Windows 11 pro latest update.

What can cause this problem???
Thanks in advance,
Twan

have you tried latency mon to see if there is something there? which hardware are you using? there was quite a few issues on Cubase 13 with GUI but v14 has been smooth on my part

Hi Glenn,
Latency and hardware (Steinberg) are not the problem.
12 versions are doing extreemly well.
Something has changed in the Steinberg graphic environment in version 13 and 14.

I know the video player changed. Do you use video in your project, or is it just audio?

Just instrument tracks.

Feeling your frustration with what’s going on here… I’m sorry I don’t have any ‘solution’ to offer you. Mind, my first thoughts were this looks like a classic ‘memory leak’ type problem in the software… something that say, kicks in over a certain threshold and then gradually gets worse.

So, I was intrigued by the statement…

…where despite this, it’s sad nothing could be nailed down as a ‘cause/cure’ for you.? Or, more telling, whether they could (or really tried to.?) replicate the symptoms given those large project sizes…

Crazy, that things have seemingly nose-dived this badly for you since C12.

But hey, lets see if others chime along with some clues… FWIW, good luck anyway.!
