Latency in recording when uisng Zoom H4n Pro and cubase

Hi there,

Recently Ive been recording guitar and vocals with the Zoom H4n and have noticed a large amount of latency when recording. Previously I have just dealt with it and moved the audio to where it is supposed to be, but I want the ability to use the monitor button.

Thanks a lot

Hi and welcomd to the forum,

please, make sure to have the latest firmware installed on your zoom. Afterwards, install the latest ASIO driver and set it up accordingly in Cubase:

Adjust the buffersize if needed.

If you have got a lot of plugins on other tracks or the control room you can also try to engage Constain Delay Compensation by clicking on the icon in the bottom left corner of the project window.

Hi there,

Thanks for the help.

I’ve updated Zoom and reinstalled the driver, but I’m still unable to edit the buffer size.

Do you have any ideas on what the issue could be?

also my buffer size is set to 441

and

input latency is 10ms,

Output latency is 20ms,

Asio-Guard latency is 30ms,

and HW smaple rate is 44.100 kHz.

Cheers

Hi,

you haven’t yet installed the correct Zoom ASIO driver

Please, download the driver from the Zoom link I posted above and install it following the instruction (see other link above).

Afterwards, you’ll be able to adjust the buffer size under Studio/Studio Setup / Audio System.

You also have to select the zoom asio driver in cubase, not the steinberg one!
