Latency issue on 9.5

Is anyone encountered in a severe latency in 9.5?
upgraded today and everything seemed to be fine until now, I’ve got hell of a latency. unusable for live recording.
Using updated drivers for Fireface 800 (RME) on macOS.

Hi,

I just upgraded to Cubase 9.5 pro from 9 pro and I have this issue as well.
All settings seem fine though and all that faff.
I didn’t have it in 9.

Did you manage to fix it?

[TAB] Studio > Studio Setup > VST Audio System > …there are some new features… Look if everything set properly…

Asio Driver (use no generic low but RME Asio)
Processing Precision > 64bit
Activate Multi Processing > On
Active ASIO-Guard > On
Asio Guard Level > high
Audio Priority > Boost

Hey guys I have the exact same issue, about a quarter to half second delay on audio recording.

I tried the tips below to no avail.

This is a serious problem. Will someone at Steinberg get on top of this?

I think I have it licked. For each audio track I created a new output cue buss called “phones”, then switched from stereo to phones, seems to work fine…

Hey! Just bought 9.5. I don’t have latency while playing MIDI keyboard or recording it. Haven’t tried audio recording with a mic yet. But i have a latency when i’m recording from MIDI track to an audio track via dedicated buss. It doesn’t affects recorded audio on audio track, but during the recording audio track plays with delay about 1/8, and no matter buffer size is high or low. Processing precission is 64 bit. Tried also to activate Multiprocessing, Assio guard normal. My system is quiet powerful and i don’t believe Cubase could slow it down. I was mixing 106 track project full of plugins and automation in 8.5 and only used like 15% cpu. But 9.5 is lagging badly just with 5 tracks. Also visual laggs that doesn’t affect audio, but still annoying.

Yea, this is really bad. I had NO latency issues ever with Cubase, now, with 9.5 (and even with the new update to 9.5.40) I have so much latency Cubase audio recording is unusable.
I have used Cubase since the 1990’s, but I may have to switch. This is totally killing productivity.

To me, this sounds like you have a plugin (or more) that has some kind of processing delay in your project. Plugins like a linear EQ or an oversampling compressor/limiter will introduce a ton of latency, so when you go to record, you should be turning on Constrain Delay Compensation so that Cubase bypasses any plugins with sample delay.
