Hello everyone, I have some latency problems with my setup that I haven’t been able to solve yet and I hope someone can help me. I have two focusrite octopre connected in adat to an RME Hammerfall 9652 card with driver updates that stopped a few years ago, all managed by the DAW Cubase 9.5 PRO. The latency on the audio appears after a few minutes of working with the audio, in detail I’m doing a recording job with a drummer who is recording on some backing tracks, I set the levels of the drumset and the various drums in the headphones and OH so everything is ok, each piece of the drums has the right listening, but while I send it to rec after a while the base slows down or increases in speed. Stopping the recording to the drummer in the headphones a problem of latency and various flam appears on each part of the drumset, I check in settings and I see that the latency in Cubase is always 2 ms in input and 2 ms in output practically nothing but in the headphones the speed is automatically restored, the latency remains. I exit the project and enter another and the latency disappears to return to give problems even on the track just opened. My recording set is 44.110 3 32 bit float. Could some kind soul help me? THANKS.
Hello and welcome.
The most common cause for a latency increase is the addition of plugins. Plugins can introduce a latency on their own.
Could that be the case on your project?
32bit float has no advantages in this setup. It is safe to record with 24bit instead.
Very untypical… maybe a plugin is changing something…
Any new installations in the last time?
I will try seven kings resolution at 24, as for new installations no, none.
Sorry for the digitization error. Yes I will try to set the resolution to 24, as for new installations no, none.
I forgot to point out that I also have the problem of increasing and decreasing the audio speed on an mp3 audio file played on windows media player or VLC.
I read Italian and now you got me listening to Toto Cutugno. Incredibile.
