Layout- individual

When extracting parts from a full score, if there are parts A, B, and C in one file, how can I set up different layouts for each individual part?

What I meant was different musical instruments. I’m asking if it’s possible to set up different layouts for each individual part, for example, Flute, Clarinet, and Oboe.

What do you mean with “different layouts for each individual part”?
Each layout can look completely different, as you can select individual layouts when opening the Layout Options dialog and set different options for each layout.

You can also create new templates and assign them to your layout(s).

Could you describe (or show us) more specifically what you are trying to achieve?

@k.k ,
When you say parts, do you mean movements: A, B, C?
Or do you mean instrumental parts: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe?

The difference is important.
Layouts for different instruments can be customized via different Page Templates for each layout, but changing the layouts for given instruments from movement to movement is different, although not impossible.

In Setup mode:

  1. Create a new Layout.
  2. Add a Player to that Layout.
  3. Create another new Layout.
  4. Add the same Player to that Layout.
  5. Use Clef and Transposition Overrides if you want to change the 2nd layout.

I love how 3 people answer the same question with 3 totally different topics, because the question is so ambiguous😂

Can I create separate templates for each instrument? And is there a limit to the number of templates I can create?

I don’t know what the limit is, but you can create quite a few Page Template sets.

… though of course, the whole point of a template is to use it over and over again. If you’re not using it more than once, there’s not much point in making a template.

It’s probably best if you ask what you’re trying to achieve, and we can show you the best way to do it.
