Layout issue - empty space on bottom of page

This might be a stupid question, but can someone please explain to me why page 2 of the score looks like that, with so much empty space below the staff?
When I move bar 8 from page 3 to page 2, the layout changes so the staff files the page like page 1 and 3.
Any way to stretch the staff to the end of the page, or better yet - have Dorico default to a layout that makes more sense?

Hello @roeeli. If you go in Engrave mode, you’ll notice a percentage number at the bottom rleft of the page thati ndicates the “fullness” of the page. Under a certain treshold (by default is 60%), Dorico won’t vertically justify the page.

If you go to Layout option → Vertical Spacing, you can change the justify this value in order to set the threshold.

Take a look at the settings in Layout Options > Vertical Spacing > Vertical Justification. Your second page is below the threshold (in Engrave mode, look at the % indicator in the lower left hand corner of the page) for Dorico to apply vertical justification.
