I created some big slurs for playback purpose and hide these slurs by setting its color opacity to 0%. It works visually, until I added dynamics with suffix. In the picture, Dorico puts the text in the lower staff in a very low position in order to avoid collision with the hidden slur. How can I make the text placement ignores those hidden objects so that it aligns with the “mp” dynamics?
Edit: To further describe the issue, the current layout result is in the below picture. The first staff is close to what I want, and the dynamics in the second staff is placed in an undesired vertical position.
The thing is that the slur is not “hidden” as far as Dorico is concerned, it just has a different color property.
Perhaps flipping it to above the staff helps (but I can’t tell from your screenshot if that will have other effects). Some items (such as trills) allow their slur-relative position to be changed in Engrave mode, but this is not possible for dynamics. Your best bet would be, like Janus suggests, to try to achieve your playback result with hidden playing techniques.
