Layout name-space

The spacing is too wide in the area indicated in the Layout name. How do I reduce it?

If I delete the space bar, it becomes too tight.

@MarcLarcher has talked about “half-spaces,” something important in French. Perhaps he will have something to contribute about how to access them and how they might help your situation.

You can try using a ‘thin space’ (U+2009) or a ‘hair space’ (U+200A). However, you cannot enter Unicode directly into a layout name. Instead, enter 2009 followed by Alt+X in a staff text and copy this into the layout name.

How do I input U+2009?

Thanks.

Hi @Derrek ! Half spaces do not exist (well, they do… mid-space, as they call it in the document below), I use narrow unbreakable spaces (U+202f). Unfortunately Academico’s is the exact same size as a normal (breakable) space. I had tweaked it once (it’s a very easy operation in Glyphs) but each update of the font gets rid of that change… I’ve given up on this :joy:
