I have a piano trio for fl cl pno. It is 2 systems per page and I need to make it three. So I select layout and go to Space Size and choose rastral size 3 or 5 and I get the attached. the systems are a mess. Please direct me to a tutorial that fixes this or explain. Let me know if the images upload. if they don’t, as this is my 1st x trying to do this, explain what I might be doing wrong .
It looks as though your rastral size should be even smaller.
If you go to Engrave mode and look down the bottom-left, you will see the Frame Fullness Indicator. If it is red and over 100% then this will confirm that you have too much in the frame (which you do).
Try reducing the rastral size until the indicator is green.
Yell out if you need more help.
thanks for a very speedy reply.
No.1 original, 2 sys per pg - goal: 3 sys per pg. all frames are green or violet – safe.
No. 2 rastral set at 5 and 3 sys per pg achieved. BUT in the same (rastral modified) document:
No. 3 a few pages down the line and I get this: NOTE the frames are all green. So the issue is not overcrowded frames. Now what?
The green indicators on the right side are the System Fullness Indicators i.e. how full a System is. The one at the bottom-left is how full the Frame is. And, I’m sorry, but that third screenshot must be red. You have likely (unintentionally?) forced this music into the one frame, otherwise Dorico wouldn’t allow it.
If not, please attach your project or PM me with it.
i will check that out tomorrow. Thanks!
Hey - you are right! the bottom left IS red! My FRAMES are overstuffed. But how do I fix them?
Sorry to double up replies but I created system breaks and it fixed a few more pages which is great but the attached show the few pages that are overcrowded. Nun was?
To remove the breaks:
Ensure Signposts are switched on (pink ones labeled System or Frame Break should be visible) > select one > press Delete.
Regarding the previous attachment, it looks as though you have done some manual staff/system spacing:
Pleeeeease send me your project and I will do this for you and explain.
Got it. thanks. new to this, so I probably did exactly that. Your inuit is most helpful.
