If I want to create lead sheets for guitar and ukulele with chord diagrams at the beginning, what is the best practice for creating scores? Do I create a lead sheet with chord diagrams for guitar, export to PDF, and then change the layout options for the whole score to ukulele diagrams? Or do I create separate players for guitar and ukulele? I’m still trying to understand Layouts in Dorico, and best practices for creating parts.
Simply create a new instrumental part layout for the ukelele with the same music (if you have made your lead sheet as instrumental part you could propagate the part formatting), in layout options select the new layout and choose the tuning for chord diagrams at the start of the flow that you want.
The important concept here is that you can have many different layouts (with diferent layout options) containing the same music.
