Learning Dorico and helping

Like all software, everyone has to evaluate according to their needs or projects or collaborations. I am still using Finale, especially for previous files I have. I also use Musescore for specific purposes and sometimes for my own work, StaffPad.

I am annoyed with the Finale announcement itself when it came to me, because they could have had an estimated time period for the special price for Dorico, or at least said they would give ample warning when it would finish so everyone was not frantic to decide.
They should have said there was a 60 day trial to evaluate, they did not.
(I know, in hindsight…)
They should have also had some information about what it would do well, the differences and what is actually missing, perhaps information/thoughts from some of the Finale to Dorico users who have made the transition. Being v5 compared to over 30 years of development for Finale is an unfair comparison in some ways, keeping in mind the diverse purposes a notation program is used for.
