Ledger line shortening doesn't appear to do... anything

Hi folks, I have Engraving Options > Notes > Ledger Lines set to “Shorten ledger lines” on notes with accidentals.

I have tried to adjust the Ledger lines protrude left of notehead with accidental by: setting by various amounts and it has absolutely no effect; regardless of the amount the ledger lines collide with the accidental:

How can I get this to work (aside from manual adjusting every accidental, which is a non-starter)?

Hi @hautboisbaryton, if you use Bravura or Sebastian (instead of Finale Mestro for example), you will not have any issue :
