In Dorico 3.5, I created custom vertical lines to appear on the left and right of a note. When creating the left line, the note spacing changes to accommodate it. However, when creating the right line, the note spacing changes back upon setting the “Side” property, resulting in collisions.
(It is arguably useful to have the option of disabled collision avoidance for lines, but this doesn’t appear to be intentional behaviour…)
