I’m trying to make left only bracketed notes for a multi double stop divisi string section (I don’t want the right bracket). I presume I’ll have to create a custom Notehead set but I couldn’t find my way around that. Any tips?

You could try using the nonarp ornament? (shift-O nonarp)
