Left/Right Hand Fingerings for Guitar issue

When inserting guitar fingerings for the right hand we use p, i, m, a. However, the left hand fingerings are always selected by default when pressing Shift+F, even if I’ve just entered a right hand fingering. I would expect the last selected hand to be the active one the next time I go there. Otherwise you need to click on the L to the right for every right hand fingering. This makes it quite annoying and tedious if you have lots of them to insert.

Is there a way to make this work? In that case I’m sure it’s in the manual somewhere, where I haven’t looked.

You probably know this, but you can use the the arrow keys or the shift bar to move to the next note, or to keep pressing it to arrive at the note you wish to finger. When you have finished the passage you want fingered, press Enter. Again, you may already know this, but it sounds as though you are invoking the fingering popover for each pitch.
You can also use the backward arrow to go back and enter the other hand’s fingerings; use the down arrow to get from L to R.
Hope that helps.
To answer your question, I don’t think you can change the default that comes up when you invoke the popover - it will always come up L when opened. Perhaps I’m wrong about this; if so, someone will be along to correct me!

You don’t have to click anywhere, just arrow down after shift-F while your hand is still on the keyboard.

Thanks, Ronald!

Actually, I thought I had tried using the arrow keys. Obviously not.

Thanks, Ludwig!

I had clearly missed this tip in the manual.
