Lenght of dynamics

I am trying to add Dynamics to a whole note,
It always ends on the next note. See Screenshot.
That way, I can’t put anything under the next not.
I would like the dynamics to ende in the first bar, since it is only to be applied on the first note.
How do i do that?

If you always want a hairpin to end before the barline, there is an option for this in the Gradual Dynamics section of the Dynamics page of Engraving Options.
