Anyone else notice that when importing all settings via the library manager, Dorico does not seem to import the settings for adding numbering to multi-measure rests and the position of measure numbers above the staff (minimum distance)?
I don’t seem to be able to reproduce this problem. I just tried this:
- create a new project
- edit the bar number settings for ranges on multi-bar rests and minimum distance above the staff
- use the Library Manager to reset all my Layout Options to default
That seemed to work fine. Does that work for you? Does it only go wrong for specific files?
The issue I have is that when I’m working on an existing project with the default settings, and I import the settings from another project in which I’ve changed the settings to turn on bar count on multi-bar rests and have increased the minimum distance, those settings do not import. I can see them in the list of “Differences” between the projects. I see the green arrows showing that the settings will import, but they don’t seem to do so. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that those settings only apply to specific layouts (i.e. the parts but not the score).
I still can’t reproduce this. Could you attach an example project in which you’ve already changed the settings, so that I can try importing from there?
As you say, these settings are layout-specific, so you will need to import them separately into each layout that you want to change.
I see now. For some reason, I assumed that importing layout options from one project to another would automatically transfer score options to score layouts and player/part options to part layouts. Thinking about it now, it makes sense that Dorico cannot know which part layout options, when they differ, might apply to any of the new project’s parts, etc.
Thanks.
