Library manager & part layout question

I’ve setup a template exactly as I want it for an instrumental ensemble. All the parts have exactly the same layout settings. I’ve exported that template as a library. I can start a new project that has the settings I want. But, if I want to change an existing project, I can’t seem to get the parts to change when using the library manager. Am I missing something obvious?

I can use the library manager to get the score to look like the template. However, the parts are not changed. The only thing I seem to be able to do is go to each part (layout), invoke the library manager, go to the layout options on the upper left then select the part layout in the compare section at the top. Why do I have to do this for every single part? How about an option to import all (or selected?) parts in the library to any or all of the layouts/parts in the existing project? When I export a library do the individual parts settings not get exported? My existing document and the template have the exact same players. I would expect using the library manager to change settings would change all the part settings. It does not appear to do so.

I’ve come up with this work around, but is this the only realistic way to copy score and parts settings to existing documents? I open the template I’ve created (file->new from template). I import a flow from the one-flow project I want to change. Delete the original blank flow (in the new project) and it is mostly done. However, that doesn’t copy the project info from the existing project, only the flow info. That’s another problem in itself that I then have to manually add all of the existing file’s project information to the new project. (It would be nice when importing a flow if somehow the project info of that flow is also imported).

You can use the

to copy the Layout Options from one part to multiple parts. This will save you from doing each layout independently.

When you use the Library Manager and have Layout Options selected, there’s a button in the lower left that says “Copy to All Part Layouts”. You can use that to copy layout options from one layout in the source to all part layouts in the destination. (This was added in v6.)

Had no idea!

Likewise, I had no idea. Didn’t see it when I first ran across this issue. Solves the problem. Thanks.
