Licence for older Cubase versions

I want to go back and work on my old laptop running on XP. I want to do this so I can use Virtual Guitarist on a project.
I have Cubase 4 & 5 …and SX. I’m running Cubase 7.5 on my main system. But I cannot open the earlier versions of Cubase on my old laptop. I’m getting 'no licence ’ sort of message. Shouldn’t all old Cubase versions be licenced via my current licence key which is happily running the latest version of Cubase.

Thanks for any help

Does your laptop have the most recent version of the E-Licenser Control Center installed on it? If not, you should update it. Of course, an older version of ELCC won’t even know what a C7.5 license is, since it didn’t exist, so it won’t know that it can allow you to run C4, C5, etc.

Thanks J.L. …somewhat belated . I thought I had updated the E-licenser…but hadn’t.
Thanks again…VG up and running.
