Any one know if there is a way to have a track with multiple lanes cycle through all of them (raw ones at this point) from 1st to last? Page 78 of the Op Manual does not seem to show it to me.
This would be usefull for sitting back and getting a feel for what to use just prior to comping.
Bredo,
Thanks for the comeback. I did not see how it could be done but thought I would ask. I did mean automatically as you say. I see one way to do it but it would be more work than just selecting one by one until you got the one that is best.
And here is a macro to flatten the stacked events. I assume there is much more ways to setup a macro like this, but this is one way to do it. With this macro there is a case if they flatten into an event stack on the same track that you must be aware of. I point this out in the gif.
Flatten stacked Events
Here is the command order:
Locators to selection
To left locator
Navigate–> Down
Locate next Event
Move To cursor
Jhp,
Looks good - I will have to give this a try once I can find where in the heck they put the macro functoins. I never used em much but ran into them in ver 5. Now that I hunt around a bit I did not run into them right off the bat. So I will dust off the manual once again and try this. Thanks so much for a detaied postl on how to actually pull it off!
Am I alone in thinking it might be nice to have a button to do this? Or would most never use it?
JHP,
Well I found where you put in thte macro and watched your gif. I see the macro issue… In the end it looks like there is no way just to loop the transport with a focus on the track with the lanes and have the transport keep dropping down a lane at the end of the preceeding one? Then keep cycling all the way to the last of the lanes in the track and stop. I see what your trying to do in flattening them… but that looks like trouble if I am seeing it right.
Maybe it is just not worth the hassel factor to try and pull off… But I still thank you for showing me this as I learned a few things and may try and attack this one with what I now know. I will post here if I come up with something.
Ok,
I gave macro writing a bit of a try and got a little ways.
Question - Is JHP’s call to bring up the logical editor so you can chain commands together?
In my case I used [Transport-Play until next marker].
Then I had another command in the macro right after that and the macro just stopped.
So would opening the logical editor as he did with his first command allow other commands to execute after the first command stops?
Not completely new to macros but I am in cuebase macros. Gosh the editor is pretty bare bones! Is there any more documentation someplace on macro writing in cuebase?
Bredo,
Agreed - Lol, was just hoping when I asked that I might be overlooking something. Then to I have a set of cordless headphones and at times wander from the desk. That is a great time to just listen prior to a comping session and get an overview of where one is headed when in that mode.
Thanks again for your help and now I know it is one for another version, maybe in the future.
Macros are described in the manual. It takes a couple of minutes to get used to them and learn to love them. Like every function you must use it a couple of times to make it yours.
Ok here is a gif that shows how to setup the macro: Flatten Lane Layerd Events
Locators to selection
To left locator
Navigate–> Down
Locate next Event
Move To cursor
