Lines: Strange behavior with changing Horizontal start position in "Inside staff" mode

Strange behavior when changing “Horizontal start position” in “Inside staff” mode

I need to create a line consisting of several connected segments. I used Inside staff mode and created alternating ascending and descending lines.

However, there is always a strange gap after the first note and before the last note. I tried changing Horizontal start position, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.

Is this expected behavior, or am I missing a setting?

P.S. I know I can adjust the lines manually in Engrave mode, but I’m looking for a more elegant solution than editing every line by hand.

Adobe Express - Gap-2

The key is to connect the notehead on the outside notes to a position where they intersect. The lines will not exactly merge, but they will be within a few pixels of each other. I used Engrave mode to move the ends into the position I wanted.

I found the setting where I can remove this gap. I set it to 0, and then the line segments aligned perfectly with each other. That was exactly what I needed.

On the other hand, changing Horizontal start position doesn’t seem to have any effect. I can’t see it doing anything in Inside staff mode.
