Link a master page to a musical element?

Shoot to the moon here: what do you think about linking a master page to a musical element?

I understand and appreciate the workflow in Dorico where you first write the music then apply a layout. But once I have, say, a footnote in a text frame or on a dedicated flow in a music frame, all this in a dedicated master page, it happens (often) that the music is altered: cuts or inserts for the stage in early versions of the edition are the most common in my case.

Would the special master page be linked to the music, it would stick to this specific spot instead of staying in the old layout page number.

Maybe even if feasible, this could be an option to be chosen yes or no?

Thank you for the hard work anyway!

It is a nice software design, as used by, e.g., FrameMaker and LaTeX. If Dorico can use this design, only a few people know.

OT: I had no idea Framemaker still existed; that was an interesting bit of news.

It went from “somewhat advanced” to “Enterprise” in some years a while ago

and sadly never made it into the Adobe Cloud. It is a separate subscription. I’m not sure how easy it is to use for a “common user” after they started to focus on DITA systems. I left in version 9, and went to LaTeX. Never looked back. As good as FrameMaker is, it cannot “hold a candle” to LaTeX.

For those that don’t like the “coding” in LaTeX, FrameMaker is #2 for books. InDesign have some features, as @dan_kreider constantly demonstrate in his excellent production, but FrameMaker has more features when it comes to books (it does not have the “freedom” of InDesign).

I wish some parts of Dorico was built like FrameMaker, like the book feature (also partly existing in InDesign). It would make compilation etc. much more easy in Dorico. Perhaps in a future version.
