Link Velocity and Pitch Bend

Hello everybody,

offers Cubase 10 a way to connect the input velocity of a Midi controller with the pitch? So the more Velocity, the higher the pitch. As a use case for snare rolls, etc. So far I have found such a function only in NI Battery.

So this might be possible but there are several variables that you need to consider first.

  1. does your sample library respond to pitch bend in the first place
  2. if it does, is it only the snare that get’s pitched or is it the entire kit?
  3. if you are able to get the above two working the way you want with a pitch bend controller then you might be able to use an midi transformer in Cubase to convert velocity to pitch bend.


    I haven’t tried this myself, but I think it’s doable.
