Something that I find pops up frequently that I’d like to be able to do. I’d love to see a simple way to link two or more insert slots so that only one can be active at a time.
For example, I might have two different processing approaches on a stem, might be stereo width, compression what have you. Many plugins give you internal A/B options to preview different settings.
So for example, Plugin A compressor is on, Plugin B insert is bypassed. Clicking Insert A bypass automatically switches insert 2 back on. Currently, trying to quickly A/B just doesn’t have that immediate, one click feel that it needs. The important part is that this would be a generic insert feature, rather than something requiring a separate Macro for every comparison.
Macros are no good here as you’d need to make a new one for every possible pair of plugins and insert slot configs.
There are countless situations where you might want to compare two processing approaches while keeping everything else in the signal chain identical. Something as simple as an “Exclusive A/B Group” option on insert slots would work.
