Linked midi channels?

Hi all,

I seem to have linked the soprano and cello parts together. They both play, but you’ll notice the cello has disappeared from the mixer. Also when I mute either cello or soprano they both stop working. I can’t mute just one of them. Any thoughts?

I forgot to send the screen shot.

Hey Donald, if you collapse the channel so that you don’t see the slider, you’ll see the instrument you have assigned for playback- and they will end up being the same one :). Not sure what you use for playback, so I can’t be too much more specific, but that’s the deal.

I collapsed the channel (mid-bottom left) but I don’t see the playback assignments. Also, the soprano and cello each sound correctly. Why is it I can see 5 channels in the main window, but only 4 in the mixer?

Here are the HALion sound assignments. The last one is in Sforzando.. They all sound fine.

Never mind. I solved it The two were in the same channel

One last question; I assigned pizz to the cello, and it shows on the score, but it still sounds arco. Any thoughts?

In the previous screenshot it showed your expression map as default - in this case you will want to be sure it is set for halion sonic .

It is. I just can’r make the cello pizz (so to speak . . )

Do the Sonic GM sounds include pizz?

If you use the Yamaha S90ES Piano, that implies (to me, unless I am wrong) that you have access to the HALion HSO sounds as well.
Try choosing one of the cello Combi patches for your Cello player; that should give you pizz.

Also then choose one of the HSO Playback Templates.

I switched it to violincelli A combi and now I have pizz. Thank you!
