I am hoping the issues I am listing below will be fixed soon and/or that there is an answer or work-around for these issues that I am having.
The load times opening the program and also songs and templates is very slow.
Templates are saved as NPR files, not templates, and don’t show up in my template folder in the hub. I can call these up in the media bay but it is less satisfactory this way. They are not really templates, but NPR files, and sometimes open automatically to a folder rather than allow me to choose my location.
If I enable “release audio driver in background” Nuendo is very slow to allow me to work when I click back into the program. Even clicking on the marker track module makes it slow to come back when “release driver in background” is engaged.
Working with my “metronome settings” has caused the program to close suddenly.
In some instances, when I open a song/ template where a single plugin or instrument is missing Nuendo freezes.
I’m a little disappointed in this release and hope that these and other issues brought up by other users will be addressed in a timely manner.
I didn’t like the new pencil (( It has become slow and inconvenient. In my work, I have always used a pencil for quick work. Why did need to touch it? It would be better to add a variety of formats to “Export Video”
Alas, if the pencil remains the same as in Nuendo 14, then I will forever remain at 13
I am curious about the problem you are having with the pencil tool. I have been using it with a Slate Raven which normally taxes screen draws even more than using the mouse. It really seems very usable and smooth. Very quick to respond. I even considered that they somehow improved the response to the pencil tool before I read your post.
Could it be maybe related to your drivers or hardware? If I hadn’t noticed how much more slick it was responding in my system I wouldn’t have been so curious about your post.
I have had issues in the past when a new video driver came out and then I would have an issue after I downloaded and installed the latest drivers. In those cases I would revert to the earlier driver and it would be business as usual. Since I have installed N14 nothing immediately got worse with any of the tool responses. The only thing I can think of is maybe some sort of driver issue or a compatibility problem?
Can you elaborate on what you are finding when using the tool that is different than the previous version? I will try and duplicate that.
The volume line is now in the middle of the audio track, so the transitions from loud to soft and back are too abrupt. It has become more difficult to hit the volume line with the mouse, and this affects the speed of work. The pencil was perfect, why did you need to touch it? There are many other features that need improvement. Sorry for the bad English
I find slowness switching between tools, as well as some tools not being properly selected on right-click, and dragging up or down on the Ruler, in V13 (Windows).
Has the situation become more widespread in V14?
if so, I am assuming that the whole situation will be fixed by the end of the V14 product cycle, in which case I will wait a little bit longer before upgrading, simply because of the fact that besides a little slowness here and there, the app is actually quite solid and loads/unloads projects really well but with the caveat that all plug-in’s must be VST3.
Sorry, I didn’t notice this issue in N13. The fact is that the pencil in N14 is completely different, you can download a trial version and compare. Sorry for the bad English, I use Google Translate
Dear people if you have issues like these, post your setup (hardware software), use case, screenshots and what you have tried already (so excluded probable causes).
Thrashing preferences (make a backup first) is one of them i can advice but without any other info it is hard for any to give tips/solutions.
ps. Copy your setup and use case to your profile for future posts.

I don’t understand the framing of posts like these. Why not say YOU are having problems, instead of assuming the issues you have are shared by everyone?
Nuendo 14 loads considerably faster for me than 13 did. Your problem with templates is odd and not shared by me either, I have made multiple templates in v14 and they appear in the template section as expected. I don’t get crashes when I go into metronome settings and attempt to adjust every single parameter there. I don’t normally have release driver when in the background activated, but I tried it, with a project playing, and switched back and forth from YouTube to Nuendo over and over and over, application and audio switching was instantaneous. For reference my computer was built about 9 years ago.
If you’re having problems just reach out and say you’re having problems, like @klfnk2020 said, post your specs and your troubleshooting steps and someone will likely be happy to help, but this approach will get you nowhere while others get on with using Nuendo 14 just fine.

This is not true in N14.
You just have to tick the “allow VST2” box in VST Plugin Manager.

I am saying that regardless of the DAW version, if it supports VST3, then it runs best with only that version because they integrate with the DAW, rather than running as a separate process.
I am just glad I got rid of or replaced all my VST2 plug-in’s prior to upgrading.
The last one I had to replace was an old Sonnivox keyboard plug-in, which I used for harpsichord, which I found, called Darksichord, which is the best take on a harpsichord I have ever heard.
Cheers
Yes, you are right. And my problem tuned out to be simple: I was running Nuendo with administrative privileges and when I unchecked that everything worked.
The slow loading of VST 2 plugins and the templates not showing where they are supposed to, for which i found a temporary workaround, are really the only issues left.
I’m seeing that these two issues are more universal.
