Too laid back, for my current mood (I need loud, bombastic and uplifting), so Iām not fit to comment on the music.
BUTā¦!
Please, work on your endings. This track, as well as your previous one (which I liked) just seem to peter out. They deserve a proper ending, even if itās just a good old fashioned 8-bar fade out.
Gave āGravityā a listen, really nice laidāback bluesārock vibe with a kinda Clapton/JJ Cale feel. The vocal delivery is spotāon and the guitar tone is warm and confident, though the mix leans a bit too heavily on that crunchy rhythm part I reckon - tends to overly dominate the mix. The drums, especially the kick, feel a little too polite for the style and could use more presence to anchor the groove. Also, around 1:23 I was waiting for a new colour or lift in the arrangement -itās a natural spot for something fresh - maybe touch of Hammond or some other subtle texture would fit beautifully here, though of course that depends on your personal taste and preference I guess! Overall, well played and well sung, for me - thereās room for a bit more dynamic development, good song though! ![]()
I appreciate the positive criticism and tips received on here.
I will give it another listen through with a view to what I am able to add to this.
The suggestion of adding a Hammond at around (verse2 start) 1.30 is a nice idea in particular.
Regarding my song endings, I like a simple ending, that lands on the note.
Simple is often more impactful I believe.
Ive made edits minor to the track based upon your suggestions. ![]()
(the same link plays the new version.)
Nice one! Organ gives it a nice touch of āgospelā ![]()
