I just recently discovered this hidden gem inside the key editor automation lanes, where you can view multiple instruments as one lane (with one set as the primary master)!
This is so great for being automating volume swells of a rhythmically cohesive section, or in my case getting the perfect niente fade on all my strings just the way I like
My question is – previously I have enjoyed manually writing in CC1/CC11 data using a hardware midi controller / fader box. The way to achieve this in Dorico has been to “record” and then to ride the faders in real time. It works great.
However I have noticed that if I try to select multiple staves and set one as primary such as above, only that first staff gets any CC data recorded to – the others remain untouched. Would there be a way of batch-recording CC data to several selected lanes?
Alternatively, is there a fast way of copying and pasting all CC automation from one instrument to another (i.e., a function like ‘copy all automation’ or ‘paste all automation’)? I have found manually selecting all my points per CC lane and lining it up perfectly with the playhead is both tedious and prone to error.
