In Dorico I have the Halion Tenor Sax VX instrument loaded. Dorico set the Expression map to CC11 and it works. I wanted to access the other key switches so exported the Expression Map from Cubase and Imported into Dorico. When I assign this imported Expression Map, the note velocities all get set to zero and cannot be modified! The Expression Map appears correct, with the appropriate key switches. What is happening?
What does the Tenor Sax use Note Velocity for? Where is this configured in the map?
Found the problem. The Expression map imported from Cubase did not have anything designated as “Natural”. When I changed the Legato expression name to “Legato: Natural” all the velocity values returned to expected values. I’d expect a message about the missing “Natural”, but glad to have found it!
