if you use key and connect button it says you cant connect over local network and if you select the host using the lan button it just says local connection failed. 
That is correct, local connections can only be established with the LAN button (PRO Version only).
Is the LAN button green? does it show a local IP address when you press it (like “192.168.2.15”)?
If so, it should connect, if it doesn’t you have some local firewall installed that blocks traffic internally.
