Location changes on percussion instruments (example- gong)

Hi!
I have been trying to figure out how to do this and seem to not be getting any closer, so would like some help.
I am looking at the possibility of indicating a location change for a percussion instrument (taking an example of a gong) as the tonal qualities change with location. Looking at a continues sound in principal of circular rubbing. The rubbing itself is not an issue of notation, but i would like to see if there is a way of integrating a location map (as per Kurt Stone) where the graph (which i can draw retroactively) is positioned between two widely spaced lines. My understanding is that it should be added as an auxiliary staff, but that is as far as my thought process got me. Any ideas? Anyone has examples?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Anna. This kind of thing is a bit tricky to do and involves quite a lot of manual work. You can design a new 2-line pitched instrument using Library > Instruments and then add it to the same player holding the gong (unless the player also has other instruments and you need to switch between them on the same staff, in which case I suggest you assign the new instrument to a separate player but add that player to the existing part layout for the percussionist).

You can then draw the position indicators on the new staff however makes sense, e.g. using note-attached lines.
