Location of added tempo text font

I need to change the font of the text that goes in this field, that appends (or precedes) metronome marks.

I’ve tried the two metronome mark options under Fonts, but they only effect the metronome numbers and glyph.

It doesn’t use the “default text” font, either.

Any ideas?

It’s Library>Font Styles>Immediate Tempo Text font

Immediate Tempo Text Font is what you need to change. However, this will also change all other tempo markings as well e.g. a tempo.

Great! :grinning:

Dang it!

While I’ve got ya’ll on the line:

-is there any setting to remove the ‘=’ character from the metronome marks, or use an alternate character there?

-in text fields, is there any way to give them vertical rows (e.g. like entering text in photoshop etc)? If that were true, I could solve all the problems I’m having.

Explanation:
I’m engraving music with many tempo changes, and old school metronome marks do not work. The system the composer uses could be easily replicated, if I had two text columns (e.g., where I could hit enter and it goes down to the next column in the text field), and the ability to adjust the vertical space in between the columns. Then I could just hide the default metronome mark altogether, and type in the top and bottom rows–the advantage there is that it’d be already position aligned with the score, instead of having to make a big menu of custom glyphs, attach them to the nearest random object, go into engrave mode, drag them around, and try to line it all up visually, etc.

Try out the font MusGlyphs:

You can enter things like metronome marks as text just like any other Default Text or System Text:

If not, could you post a screenshot of what you’re after?

Yep, musglyphs is why I asked the location of the font :+1:

Heres a rough of one of the markings I’m transcribing (there are a bunch more, but the important point is that they are all vertical columns like this):

As you can see, I can do it, it’s just really tedious/time draining to do it how I’m doing it (it’s a hack essentially), so I’m trying to find a faster way.

You can do this by defining a new paragraph style that uses MusGlyphs. Set the alignment to centered, and change the leading to something like 55%. Then you can create system text with this paragraph style, and just enter:

q.
54

I think that’s what @VonGear is already doing, or am I wrong?

(He talked about it being time consuming, so I assumed it was something else – since this is really quick to do!)

This is much faster than what I was doing, since I can get the alignment of the glyph and the number automated.

I guess there’s no way to do this attached to the actual metronome marks though; only a single horizontal text line is supported there, unfortunately.

Thanks again, I’ll make it work with this info!

Here’s the tweaked finished product, in case anyone who helped me out here was curious:

The composer is happy with it… :+1:

(I’d personally want a hair more margin, between the note and the number, but this is what he wants).
