Location of Project Templates

Hi

My user-defined project templates do not appear in Dorico 6. Also, I cannot find any of the project templates in the usual location: HD > Users > (username) > Library > Application Support > Steinberg > Dorico 6 > Project templates.

Please advise.

Are you on Windows? If so, I think the default file is here, like for Dorico 5:

HD:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 6\Project Templates

Mac Mini.

Ah OK, sorry!

Your user library->Application Support->Steinberg->Dorico 6->Project Templates

Note: the user library is hidden by default. alt/opt-click the Go manu in Finder to see it.

Yes. I have set up my Library to always be visible.

There are no Project Templates at this location.

HD > Users > (username) > Library > Application Support > Steinberg > Dorico 6 > Project templates

Are you looking at the correct Library. It’s hidden by default. alt/opt-click the Go menu in Finder to see it. Maybe copy over from Dorico 5

Jesper

I copied my Project Templates folder (containing my created templates) and pasted it into this location; however, these templates do not appear among the predefined templates that show up when creating a new project. Also, the predefined templates do not appear inside the Steinberg > Dorico 6 >, only the Project Templates that I pasted in are at this location.

I guess they are in the Application bundle.

I can’t find a folder called Application bundle.

Please do Help > Create Diagnostic Report, @Aelmsley, and attach the resulting zip file here. Hopefully it will give me a clue why your project templates might not be appearing.

I meant inside the Dorico application, but you shouldn’t mess with that.

Here it is

Thanks.

Sorry, I misremembered that the diagnostics would include information about your custom project templates, but it doesn’t.

In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6. Do you have a Project Templates folder in there? Does it contain the expected files?

There is a Project Templates folder at this location. It is the one I put in there. I had this folder stored on a USB drive to transfer my user-defined templates to my Macbook.

When I was using Dorico 5, all project templates were kept (default and user-defined) in ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5.

When I upgraded to Dorico 6, there was no Project Templates in ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6.

Default project templates are never stored in the user-level application data. They are not even actual Dorico project files: they are instead generated when you create a new project using a factory template programmatically. So you’re mistaken about that part, but that should be immaterial.

Dorico copies all of your user customisations from the latest previous version it finds when you run it for the first time, so that as far as possible the new version retains all your settings and custom data.

If you have a folder called Project Templates inside ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6, then Dorico will definitely be scanning the projects from that location, and adding them to the Hub.

Do you want to show a screenshot of your user-level Dorico 6 folder?

Notice that my Project templates do not appear in the list of templates in Dorico.
