Im not against the idea. Do you propose its in its own segmented portion/window like the mixer? Or still just floating, but in the same general area??
Just not sure how that would work ergonomically with some plugins veing huge and some tiny.
Autoselect popup could be cool. Not sure id use it to be honest… im not necesarily tweaking a plugin everytime I edit a midi part. But i can appreciate it working for you /others. That said, at cetain stages in production id guess this would be handy, so yeah… maybe i would lol…
Yeah, I’m definitely not tweaking all of the time when I’m playing, but at the early stages once loaded in different instruments moving around, especially Kontakt libraries which don’t always have every key used sometimes it’s handy just open the window to spot where key switches are and things play. This is why I’d like a floating window.
I really like the idea of a dedicated window a bit like the new sample Trackor drum machine, but the problem is because plug-ins GUI are so varied this will be really tricky.
A simple anchor point if you use multiple monitors or two ultra wides like I do, with Cubase, it’s a bit of a nightmare as soon as you start moving plug-ins to where you want them to open, it’s very good and it remembers but as you start adding new plug-ins or loading track presets the next time you open a plug-in you’re looking all over the place to see where it’s gonna open, it’s a bit of a guessing game
To combat this, I’ve worked on a very large template and manually moved every VSTI to open roughly where I want it this is but just seems quite a lot of manual work when we could just literally open one floating VSTi and lock that location
