Locking audio to tempo track going in?

This weekend, I’ll be recording some acoustic instruments to audio tracks to a click track in Cubase. This music will be for stock background music for film. We’ll want maximum flexibility with regards to tempo especially.

Can anyone advise me on how to set up the session in Cubase so that any recorded audio will automatically time stretch when the tempo is changed after the fact?

I have tried recording audio to a click with the “musical” timebase selected. But when I change the tempo, the audio doesn’t change with it.

I know that after you record audio you can go into the pool and check the “musical mode” box for that piece of audio and that will lock it to the tempo map.

But I’m wondering if there is a way to set up the project so the audio is automatically set to this mode?

Thanks

I don’t think you can make template project to use this option any time you open cubase, but it’s not a big deal to go it the audio pool and change it from there when you record a new audio file.
Cheers.
