I’m doing a typical enough film scoring scenario: I put markers in at my ‘hit points’. Then, amongst other things, I add time for music (Edit | Range | Insert Silence), remove time for music (Edit | Range | Delete Time) and my markers move all over the place. Which makes perfect sense for some scenarios, but not this one! Surely there must be a way to lock the marker track!

There is the Lock button for the Marker track. This button is not shown by default. Open Track Controls Settings Dialog, and show the Lock button. Then Lock the Marker track, and then Delete Time.
