I’d like to be a little bit more positive than that.
As it is now, the corporate structure is in place and will work for the foreseeable future so unless there are any real showstoppers, in relation to hardware integration from the so-called parent company’ point-of-view, I would say Steinberg do listen more than you think, it is more that they don’t unnecessarily respond.
Not saying they’re not listening, just that they will decide themselves how to evolve the software. The OP seemed to suggest they should just follow the suggestions of the users. Not even Cockos, famous for their great user relationships, does that.
I think some of the things that SB come up with, are definitely useful to large cohorts of users and that when a suggestion is put forth that makes complete and utter sense, they will consider it, otherwise why would they (staff) be in the forum, in the first place.
No but often open-source, or semi-open-source software, does not fit the bill in terms of the quality demanded by professionals, who in all likelihood remit their wishes to more technically oriented people, to be filtered up the chain to SBHQ.
