Can anyone identify a decent jazz upright bass patch? I’ve tried a few, the default “upright bass” for one, but they don’t work. Quarter-notes are jarringly truncated, and half-notes are solid sound from one note to the next. I’m trying to get the pluck sound that reverberates for a bit like a real bass. Or maybe there’s a way to modify the sound that I’ve been given.
By “patch” do you mean in Halion?

Ah, thanks for the list! Acoustic Bass VX sounds great for my purposes. The others sound good too. “Modern Jazz Upright” is the Dorico default and is the stinker, in my opinion.
If you’re looking to expand your options, I think the Ample Bass Upright is pretty fantastic. Here are a couple examples of it straight out of Dorico with no MIDI editing whatsoever.
