LoopMash lost with upgrade to M4 Mac Mini!

Hi, I recently upgraded my recording hardware from a 2013 iMac to the new M4 Mac Mini. It’s been a bit of a mission trying to get everything working again. One of the Steinberg plug in’s I used regularly has now dissapeared. LoopMash is no longer available for me to access even though it shows as having been downloaded in my library? Is there something I can do to re-aaccess this very useful plug in under my new set up?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

LoopMash was 32-bit plug-in, which is not supprted anymore.

A 3rd party wrote Loopmash for Steinberg, so unfortunately, it’s not like it would not be easy to update the code - which is a drag as it’s a pretty cool plugin which never got its deserved attention from Steinberg.

I have no problem with that but it would be nice if SB would give us a heads up like "Loopmash is no longer available to Cubase, but you can get similar effects with this company (and link to the company that wrote it)

I think the company was https://illformed.com/. Could be wrong

Many thanks. I’ll take a look at the Illformed offering. Such a shame about LoopMash, it was so good for bringing in interesting loops & fills etc. and so easy to use.

So true. Cubase comes with so many cool things, but SB often seems to just forget about them and they eventually die.

On Mac there was only a 32 bit version? Because on PC I can run it as a 64 bit plugin.
I thought the reason for abandoning it was the change of the copy protecting scheme.

Nice suggestion.
I don’t think it is quite like Loopmash. It looks similiar at first glance but it there are major differences, like LoopMash lets you load up to eight audio samples, while Glitch works on the audio channel.
Still, Glitch might be helpful for some people that look for a LoopMash replacement.
