Loosing audio config while starting VST Live with other Interface

Hey,

I sometimes have the issue, that i loose my audio setting (or parts of it), while I startet VST Live with a different Interface or even non (build-in soundcard). Is it possible to fix configurations, that nothing can be changed only with request?

Hello Stefan. If I have understood correctly your question, VST Live doesn’t store in the project file the audio settings referred to the driver/interface to use, so you have to check and eventually change the settings from this page, before to open the project.

I also lose my settings when I change my audio interface. Usually, only the stereo pair sent to Main works properly out of the 6 configured outputs, while the others get lost.

Try to erase all remembered connections for a given port by keeping pressed CTRL while selecting ND for the connection. This way all remembered ports will be erased, then reassign the port with each interface you are going to use, this should fix the issue and each port connection should switch to the correct device when you change interface to one already configured for the project.

Sometimes (for example I forget to plugin the audio interface) there is the build-in Audiodriver from my macbook. Than I happens, that some (not all) of the referenced outputs change. That’s annoying, because it always takes time to find the issue. And even if I don’t notice, that it’s not pluged in, it would be nice, if it still wouldn’t change.

This isn’t necessarily a bug if you don’t do anything in the previously posted dialog box when opening a project with a different audio setup.

Using a Mac myself, I can tell you that I normally use an audio interface with four outputs configured; if I open a project without the interface connected, all the internal sources assigned to outputs 3 and 4 won’t play at all.

Of course I can make them play by changing the assignments in Menu_devices/Connections/Audio/Outputs, but I wouldn’t expect VST Live to do this automatically, because I’m confident the program won’t be able to revert to the previous configuration after saving the project.
