Lost Control Room Settings .... quick fix?

Hi all,

My trusty Nuendo 12 install - which is my main DAW under Windows 11 - suddenly lost all of its Control Room settings. 8-/

First I suspected the recent install of Nuendo 14 on the same machine to be the culprit, but this was quite a few days ago, and I don’t remember any issues since until today. To make things worse: All my presets from F4 / VST Connections vanished, too, not just the most recent setup.

The strange thing is that the quite complex and elaborate original settings plus all presets (!) are still there when I open NU14 (which I don’t use for actual work). Can I just hack the XML and copy/paste the settings from NU14 to NU12, or will this do more harm than good?

Any other advices?

TIA!

frustrating! What size is the ControlRoomPresets.pxml in the preferences presets folder?: User\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Nuendo 14_64\Presets

If it is intact then reconnecting the Control room connections should fire everything up as usual.

You could try rename the existing ControlRoomPresets.pxml in N12 and copy the one from N14 into N12 location.

I needed things exactly the other way ‘round (NU12 was broken, in my case), but it seems to work nonetheless! :+1: :+1: … that was really a quick fix in any sense of the word, thanks!
