I suddenly lost sound in dorico, I tried to restart, change playback template, change Volumn. Nothing would work. My other software works fine, just dorico.
Hi John. Could you post diagnostic files? (Help menu, it writes the files on the desktop)
How did you solve this? I have the same issue. I’ve installed Dorico on a new laptop (old one died) and no matter what I do, I can’t get sound to play. I’ve tried reading the help files on playback, but I get lost in the audio-engineer descriptions. I just want to be able to play back a score to check for errors.
I checked my device setup against the image posted above but it does not have those same options. Maybe because I am on Windows not Mac?
Of course this is for a project I need to do by the day after tomorrow. I’ll probably need to just switch over to Sibelius for this and try to resolve the sound issue for the next project. Sorry for sounding frustrated. I am.
I got it! I went into the track inspect in play mode and clicked the e button for edit instrument. Then I was able to select the sound from the different libraries and finally, I could hear it.
Be aware that just loading a patch from a library into Halion Sonic will not enable playback of different playing techniques (even the dynamics might not play correctly). For that you will need an appropriate Expression Map.
As we said on the other thread - just load one of Dorico’s default playback templates. That will configure everything for you.
I solved the problem by plug in my headphone and plug out. That solved all my issue.
I guess after last time using my headphone, my dorico cannot recognize I switch back to the speak.
