I just got a 5.1 project kicked back to me because there were a few spots where the material “exceeded +20dB” (big explosions, etc.) Can anyone give me any advice as to how to set up the SLM 128M or the new Nuendo meter in order to be within spec? I’m in the U.S.
+20dBFS? !!!
Reading The original post it looks like you need to do some homework.
1- Read the threads about levels and metering at gearslutz.com and the avid audio forums.
2- make sure you know what specs to follow, otherwise it’s quite likely that your material will get kicked back again.
