Low latency USB soundcard?

Which ones are good with low latency? How’s that m-audio fastrack? http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrack.html

I want something cheap but good with low latency- I have an HP Pavilion dv-6 1355dx, core2 duo: 2 x 2(+)gz, 4 gigs ram, win 7, 64bit- any suggestions?- oh and I want RCA outs- if I have to adapt from 1/4 inch to RCA do I lose any sound quality?

whoa- I just found a beringer 24bit usb card for under 80bucks!!!- any good? I just need something for my DJ gig- with RCA outs : http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UCA222.aspx

As it’s got RCA connectors it will match your other unit which is probably -10 rather than +4 so thats good.

As for low latency it depends on the quality of the drivers, I see it has 32 and 64 bit drivers for most OS’s

Remember to download and install them as I don’t think it ships with the ASIO drivers (I may be wrong on that?)

It’s 16 bit, USB 1.1, 32Khz, 44.1Khz, 48Khz only

Not 24bit.

At that price it’s well worth a gamble…

That is exactly the interface I’ve used before for DJ-ing. It works fine at low latencies. I never tried the official ASIO drivers, I used ASIO4ALL so I could use my onboard soundcard simultaneously. Never used the RCA in and output though, can’t comment on their quality. How exactly do you plan to use it? You using DJ software? If yes, you’ll need an additional output for monitoring. Like I said above I solved this using ASIO4ALL and my internal soundcard. This does however come with slightly higher latency.

low latency USB in order of low latency

RME UC/Babyface/UFX
Motu hybrids
M-Audio Fast track ultra 8R or ultra (not so much)

all the rest suck 256 is pretty much it

ooooh- yeah I would want at least 24bit- so how low of latency can I get on a m-audio fastrack? 8ms or lower??
