LUFS Loudness histogram line chart feature request

Hey everyone,

Just had a feature request idea that I thought would be really cool and innovative. To have a horizontal track similar to the arranger or the markers type of track, a new track called the “loudness monitor” (or something). It would draw lines of the measurements of all the relevant values of loudness like momentary max, Integrated LUFS and the Range, basically porting the data from the “loudness” section in the meter panel in to a track that could be viewed over the length of the track to see visually and up to the second values stored temporarily in a line graph or a histogram, with each relevant value assigned a line in the line chart.

This would be super useful as I’m used to writing down values of sections of songs and keeping spreadsheets to try and match some sections of songs to other songs. Would be really great to just see, up to the millisecond, where your most dynamic sections are without having to only rely on ears and staring at the meter.

Since the momentary are calculated around a second and three seconds it’s hard to see possible little spikes or lulls. It’d be great if you could more quickly identify sections of your song that got too squished, or too quiet, or too dynamic all in a sortable and graphic line chart that constantly updates while it plays. So as it play it would always be overwriting the line chart. So as you make changes to the mix things obviously update in the line graph histogram dynamically.

Just thinking out loud.
Thank you for taking the time to read if you did.

FYI this is already available as a Nuendo-exclusive feature.

Hello,

Maybe you already know LCAST from MeterPlugs (relative expensive). But short ago I discovered this one

It has a free version that includes the features you want and the paid version is very affordable and it is just one payment.

Maybe in the meantime you can use the free version and get what you need.

Edit: but, sure, the graph is not in a track, like you want. But at least in my case, when using the measurements for mastering, I focus in the loudest sections of the song and pay attention to the short term loudness.
