Lyle Mays (was keyboard player for the Pat Metheny Group) had a signature sound he used for counterpoint melody, and occasionally a solo. The sound he used we derived from a Oberheim syth at the time. Anyway I’ve been searching for this tone and was curious if any Halion 6 users (or other versions and SE) have found it. It’s a hollow sound, a bit like a pan flute.
The sound I’m referring to can be heard on many of their tunes including “Phase Dance”.
