I am working on a set of Christmas tunes for strings. I want to include lyrics on songs which have them on the main melody. I don’t want to change the instruments to voices and rename them. The lyrics are colliding with the barlines which connect all the instruments. Is there an easy fix for this? Sorry if this question exists in the forum but I searched and read every post.
Hi @DGMuu, in Setup mode click on the three dots near the instrument, choose Edit Instrument Definition, then check Vocal Staff. (This will take care of the barlines. You can then flip the lyrics in the score, if you want, selecting them and pressing F. And in the Systems without lyrics, you can prolong the barlines, in Engrave mode, selecting the barline, then the control points and using Option(Alt)+arrow down or up) :
