LYRIC Translation Line appearing ON TOP of original incorrect vertical placement LYRICS OVERLAPPING

Hello all,

I’m on Dorico 6.1.10.6078 on an M3 MacBook Air running SEQUOIA and as the TOPIC TITLE states, the translation LYRIC LINE will not appear beneath the main lyrics (which I thought was supposed to automatically be below by default)

Please see SCREENSHOT & attached file …. the lyrics issue is on the FIRST FLOW ( named [Mariachi Score] )…. in VERSE / ESTROFA 1 ….

Yes, other Topics have discussed this HERE’S THE TOPIC but this previous topic is NOT my issue.

And, I know I can go to “Engrave Options” and manually move it, but that is way to much for something that is supposed to be by default another way, correct?

Immaculate Mary DPD GUITAR w FULL SCORE SATB v3 DORICO6.dorico (2.3 MB)

When inputting lyrics (or double-click on existing lyric) on Verse 1, press Alt/Option - Down arrow to change it to translation line. The line number on the popover changes from 1 to 1*. Then write the syllable or word in question and press Spacebar. The translated line will appear under Verse 1 lyrics.

See the last item “Translation line” here: Steinberg

Because Dorico has been designed semantically and “rule-based”, I for one can’t blame the fact that it would allow me to write translation line on top of the existing line at my will, if I so desired.

You wrote ‘translation’ and main lyric, but the were entered as chorus and verse

If you change the chorus to translation they appear on two lines

OPTION + down Arrow! Grrrrrr! I’ve been doing so much arranging lately that I have SHORTCUT memory loss!

THANK YOU ALL! It worked!
