I repeat, it is NOT standard, as BassoContinuo wrote and as I already stated above. I’m glad this is on their backlog and no longer considered to be ‘unambiguously correct’.
I was just looking for a solution to the hyphen in the beginning of a line issue, but in the latest version of Dorico I still don’t see a fix for it unless I missed it somewhere. Has it been addressed yet?
No, there is no change to this behavior as of 3.5.12.
Thanks for the update.
In v. 3.5, how do I get rid of the pesky hyphen at the beginning of a system?
If 4.x has a better fix for this, can you also tell me what it is? (I’m still using 3.5, but hope to update to 4.x sometime.)
Thank you.
Dorico 4 includes an engraving option to handle this situation; the option was new in Dorico 4, so it is not available in Dorico 3.5.
Hi there. New guy here and I never knew that was a standard engraving practice. Anyways, for my use I don’t want it. I work in congregational singing files. You said it is addressed in newer versions of Dorico. I just installed 5, and can’t figure out where that option is. Can you enlighten me?
Thanks!
HAHA! I’m stupid. Thanks! I’m only a couple hours in, and while it’s different than Finale, a lot of it makes more sense and is more automatic. Once I get my stylesheet set in here it is gonna save me a ton of time!
100%. I engrave hymnals and Dorico has been life-changing.
